▪ The Mainland and Macao will pursue trade and investment facilitation through greater transparency, standards conformance and enhanced information exchanges under CEPA.

▪ The two sides will promote co-operation in the following areas:

  1. Trade and investment promotion;
  2. Customs clearance facilitation;
  3. Commodities Inspection, inspection and quarantine of animals and plants, food safety, sanitary quarantine, certification, accreditation and standardization management;
  4. Electronic business;
  5. Transparency in laws and regulations;
  6. Co-operation of Small and medium sized enterprises;
  7. Industrial co-operation;
  8. Protection of intellectual property rights;
  9. Cooperation on brand promotion;
  10. Cooperation on education.
  • In the industrial co-operation sector, apart from the collaboration already established in Chinese medicine and the convention and exhibition industries, CEPA Supplement VII has introduced three new areas of co-operation namely in the cultural, environment and innovative technology industries. Co-operation in other industries will be considered in due course.
  • The Mainland will provide support and co-operation to Macao for organizing large-scale international conventions and exhibitions, to strengthen cooperation in the convention and exhibition industry between the two sides.
  • To promote Macao’s convention and exhibition industry development and in response to the request of the Macao SAR Government, with the consent of China’s administrative departments, the Mainland government departments concerned will facilitate the issue of immigration and visas to Mainland personnel coming to Macao for conventions and exhibitions.
  • In order to enhance the co-operation in the field of protecting intellectual property rights, Mainland and Macao would further co-operate in trademark issues.

  • Trade and investment facilitation plays an indispensable role in the trade liberalisation process, creating mechanisms for new co-operation between the Mainland and Macao.
  • Co-operation systems in various sectors will be established as the promotion of trade and investment facilitation benefits joint economic prosperity and development between the Mainland and Macao, further strengthening the development of economic links between the two sides.
